Jim Boyd, MS, CRC, CVE, LCPC

Jim holds a Masters degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. His work experience includes over 40 years of vocational rehabilitation service provision in state and federal agencies, training facilities, school districts and private practice. He has also done counselor education at the local and national levels, as well as program management and litigation support in conjunction with his clinical work. He is actively involved in state and national counseling organizations and has held board and committee positions at both levels.  Jim is published in his professional field and has made numerous presentations on various aspects of vocational counseling, expert testimony, and transition services.  You may contact Jim at jim.boyd@theevalcenter.org.

 

Lisa Byrne, MA, CRC, LCPC, PVE

Lisa received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling from Northern Illinois University, and has also served on the Advisory Board for these programs. She is fluent in sign language and a Licensed Interpreter for the Deaf. Lisa has had extensive experience working with clients with a wide range of cognitive abilities as well as from a variety of referral sources and backgrounds. She has experience working with Veterans, adults with disabilities from rehabilitation agencies, transitioning students, injured workers, and providing litigation support. Resa Kopitzke, MA, CRC

Resa is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor who has been serving individuals with disabilities since 2003. She has experience in guiding diverse clients with their rehabilitation goals in private, public, and transition settings. Resa has expertise with providing vocational evaluations, labor market surveys, case management services, job development, and expert testimony.   You may contact Resa at resa.kopitzke@theevalcenter.org.

Tami Sherman, MS, CRC, CVE

Tami holds a Bachelors degree in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the Illinois Institute of Technology.  She serves on the board of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals-Illinois Chapter. With 17 years experience in the field of vocational rehabilitation, Tami has provided comprehensive vocational assessment for high school students and adults, including occupationally injured workers.  She has experience working with various school districts as part of their transition planning, the Department of Human Services/Division of Rehabilitation Services offices throughout the Chicagoland area, as well as the Department of Veterans Affairs. Valerie Moreno-Tucker, MA, CRC, LCPC

Utilizing a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Valerie has worked most extensively with students in transition. She has provided assessment training to rehabilitation professionals for many organizations and agencies including the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals.  Valerie consults with school districts on ways to incorporate age-appropriate assessment into successful transition planning for students. Valerie also utilizes sign language to work with individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Outside of her work for The Eval Center, Valerie works with local special education advocates, is an instructor at Northern Illinois University, and is a Disaster Mental Health volunteer for the American Red Cross.   You may contact Valerie at valerie.moreno-tucker@theevalcenter.org. 

 

Giana Ferrari Ayers, MA, CRC, LCPC

Giana is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College and Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Northern Illinois University.  She serves on the Vocational Rehabilitation Transition Services board of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals.  Giana specializes in providing job readiness training and job placement services for transition aged students with disabilities.  In addition to her vocational evaluation experience, including work with veterans, she has extensive experience working in secondary and post secondary educational settings as a instructor, vocational counselor and disability accommodations advisor.  You may contact Giana at giana.ferrari@theevalcenter.org

Kelli Kerns, MS
 
Kelli received her Bachelors from Western Michigan University with a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Utilizing her degree as a Youth Specialist working with adolescents and instructing rational behavior training groups. During her graduate schooling, she conducted her practicum at The Eval Center, gaining the experience as a Vocational Evaluator. In 2017, she earned her Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling through University at Buffalo. For two years, she was the Illinois student representative for the International Association Rehabilitation Professionals-Illinois Chapter and currently on the Board of the Education Committee. She has continued to gain experience working as a Job Developer, Job Coach, and Vocational Counselor at a nonprofit agency. Additionally, working as a consultant teaching job readiness groups.
